Marlu Farm Stay lies in the middle of the scenic Groot River Mountains in the malaria-free Karoo region of South Africa's Eastern Cape.  The Groot River runs right through the farm.

Marlu Farm Stays provides a variety of accommodation options and activities.  You can opt for bed and breakfast, self-catering or camping, according to your preference. Our neat & practical facilities offer - a quality farmstay experience @ affordable rates. Our private "wild" campsite - only one reservation at a time irrespective of the group size (1st come 1st serve) offers, silence, space and serenity. The area is crime-free and the roads are safe.

Marlu is ideally suited for father and son as well as teambuilding weekends for businesses and schools.

Accommodation

Marlu Guest Farm offers several accommodation options:

self-catering in a house of your own
self-catering or dinner, bed and breakfast in a self-contained 3 bedroomed next to the farmstead
dinner, bed and breakfast in the farmstead itself
camping on a number of sites on the banks of the Grootrivier

House - Self Catering

Ideal for large families or groups.

Stay in a private, fully equipped, self-catering farmhouse with all modern conveniences and electricity. 

It has four bedrooms with altogether two double beds and five single beds as well as a cot.

The lounge is comfortable and there is an indoor braai area.

Meals, braai packs, picnic baskets, freshly baked bread (potbrood) and salad options, as well as breakfast provisions, are available upon request.

Flat - Self-Catering or Dinner, Bed and Breakfast

Perfect for small families wanting their privacy.

Stay in a self-contained flat attached to the farm's homestead on either a self catering or a dinner, bed and breakfast basis according to your choice.

There are three bedrooms (one double and twins), a bathroom with toilet and shower, a sitting room with TV and a fully equipped kitchen. In winter all beds have electric blankets for your comfort.

Braai packs, picnic baskets, freshly baked bread (potbrood) and salad options, as well as breakfast provisions, are available upon request.

Farmstead - Dinner Bed and Breakfast

Suited to single persons and smaller families who appreciate company.

Stay with your hosts in the farmstead and enjoy Karoo hospitality and Lucia's farm cuisine on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

Take your choice of two bedrooms sharing a bathroom.  One has a double bed and a single bed, the other has two single beds.

We will gladly adapt the menu to suit your preferences as far as possible.
